🀭The πŸ’― Percent Delusion

Hello πŸ‘‹πŸΎ. Today we need to talk about the mythical creature known as the person who is never happy. She is real. She lives among us. She has a phone full of complaints, a group chat full of bad advice, and a list of grievances longer than a CVS receipt. πŸ˜‚

"I'm leaving because I'm not happy."

What does that even mean? What do you mean you are not happy? Did he hit you? No. Did he cheat? No. Did he forget to text back within three minutes? Yes. So you are leaving? That is not a reason. That is a Tuesday. That is called being an adult. You do not get to blow up a whole relationship because your feelings had a bad wifi connection. You do not get to set fire to everything because you woke up on the wrong side of the bed and decided today is the day you become a martyr. πŸ’€

And this whole woke community. This "I need to feel seen, heard, and acknowledged 100 percent of the time." Sarah. Please. You are not a podcast. You are not a TED Talk. You are not a documentary. You are a person. A regular person. Another human cannot be your full time emotional support animal. They have their own feelings. I know that is shocking. People have feelings. They just do not post them every five minutes looking for applause. 🀑

If you think a person is supposed to get you 100 percent of the time, stay by yourself. Do not enter a relationship. Do not even get to know anybody. Because you do not even make yourself happy 100 percent of the time. You wake up mad at yourself for no reason. You cry at commercials about dogs. You change your mind about dinner five times. You get in your own feelings about things that happened three years ago. You expect another human to keep up with that? Good luck. You cannot even keep up with yourself. πŸ˜‚

And can we please kill this whole idea that one person's happiness is the only happiness that matters? It is garbage. It is a lie. It is a bumper sticker for people who are scared of their own household. It is happy person, happy place. Both people matter. Both people deserve peace. Both people deserve to feel valued. If you are not looking at it from a space of we are here to serve each other, then you are just two people with resentment and a shared streaming password. That is not a relationship. That is a hostage situation with snacks. πŸ‘

That is why so many relationships fall apart. And the craziest part? A lot of the time it is one person deciding they are not happy and calling it quits. Why? Because they were sold a fairy tale. Prince Charming does not exist. Prince Charming is a guy named Dave who snores, likes football, and forgets important dates. And you know what? You are not a Disney princess. You are a grown adult with a job, a bad attitude, and unrealistic expectations. The fairy tale is a lie. The castle is a rental. The carriage is a Honda. Wake up. πŸ’€

Now let us talk about the part nobody wants to say out loud. Men have feelings too. Shocking. I know. But somewhere along the way society decided that male happiness is optional. That men are just supposed to provide, protect, and shut up. That their job is to make her happy and never ask for anything in return. That is not a partnership. That is slavery with extra steps. And there are large amounts of men who have been conditioned to believe their happiness does not matter. That is sad. That is tragic. That is a whole generation of men walking around like emotional ghosts because nobody ever asked them how they were doing. πŸ˜”

But here is the thing. It is not a competition. It is not men versus women. It is not who has it worse. It is about basic human decency. It is about realizing that both people in a relationship deserve to feel seen. Both people deserve to feel heard. Both people deserve to feel acknowledged. Not just her. Not just him. Both. That is the whole point. That is the whole assignment. If you missed that, you failed the class. 🀷🏾‍♂️

So here is the truth. If you want a 24/7 validation machine, buy a mirror. If you want a real connection, act like a real person. Stop expecting someone else to be your emotional butler. Stop expecting someone else to read your mind. Stop expecting someone else to fill a void that only you can fill. Otherwise stay by yourself. The rest of us are tired. The rest of us are exhausted. The rest of us are not your therapist. 😜
